| To understand the history of Kitty Hoynes, we must first return to David Hoyne's hometown, Thomastown, County Kilkenny, Ireland. David's father, Michael Hoyne ran a thriving hardware, grocery, bar and undertaking business, Wm. Hoyne & Sons, Ltd. It was there that David learned the hospitality trade before moving to America and working in and managing fine Irish pubs and restaurants in the Washington, DC and Virginia areas. |
| David met his sweetheart Cindy (a native of Syracuse) in Washington, and they were married in 1991. They relocated to Syracuse in 1999, opening Kitty Hoynes in July 1999. The name Kitty Hoynes comes from David's late mother Cath-erine "Kitty" Hoyne. Kitty Hoynes contributes to many charities throughout the year, including Project Children that brings over Catholic and Protestant children from Northern Ireland to spend six weeks with a host family. The proceeds from Kitty Hoyne's now famous golf tournament benefited this organization last year. |

| The outside of Kitty Hoynes presents a traditional Irish shop front, with its display windows full of Irish artifacts, Wm. Hoyne & Sons signage, and bric-a-brac. Walking in-side to the bar area, you are transported to a pub in Dublin, Ireland, with its meticulous and painstaking attention to ornate decorative detail, stained glass windows, beveled and gilded mirrors, tiled mosaic floor, and a finely turned dark mahogany back bar and counter, with clock centerpiece. The beautiful high decorative tin ceilings, walls with dark wood raised paneling, framed prints, the low cast iron tables with padded stools, all add up to make Kitty Hoynes a true Irish pub. |
| Kitty Hoynes is renowned for the quality of its Guinness draft, which it treats so highly that Guinness Brewing awarded Kitty Hoynes their “Perfect Pint” diploma. The bar also features an extensive range of draft and bottled beers, import and domestic, including specially featured local handcrafted beers. All styles from lagers, stouts, ales, pale ales, meteweizen and ciders are included. Kitty Hoynes state of the art “Irish Cof-fin” box beer dispensing system, with its refrigerated lines from cooler to tap that are cleaned and flushed weekly, insure a cold and tasty pint every time. The well-trained staff can also guide you through Kitty Hoynes extensive list of wines, single malt scotches, and an ever expanding Irish whiskey selection. |

| As you enter from the bar through the stained glass pheasant doors salvaged from Kavanaugh's pub in Thourstown, Co. Kilkenny, you transition to the ambiance of an Irish country cottage style dining room, with its rough rendered white plaster and straw walls, large pine dressers, glass cabinet dresser benches filled with Irish pottery, shelves filled with bric-a-brac, crockery, old radios, pine tables and chairs. These cozy and comfortable surroundings add to the enjoyment of the restaurant's fine cuisine cre-ated by executive chef Damien Brownlow. |
